This year we have been delighted at the number of nominations we received for our Christmas Hampers. In total 9 hampers were presented to senior people within Melling to make them feel a part of the community.
Melling’s Civic Awards 2015
On Sunday 18th December the community of Melling, along with The Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton Cllr. Stephen Kermode and Mrs Gwen Kermode, Bill Esterson MP, Ward Councillors and Police Inspector Phil Hatton, joined Melling Parish Council at the 2015 Civic Awards to celebrate the outstanding work that goes on in Melling.
Melling Big Community Clean Ups
Residence turned out in great spirits for The Melling Big Community Clean Ups over the summer and the so did the weather. Volunteers of all ages enthusiastically cleaned Satinwood Crescent and park, Waddicar Lane, Station Road, Wheeler Drive & park, Rainbow park, Tithebarn Lane, the canal towpath and other areas of Melling.
Donation to Animals in Need
Melling Parish Council are pleased to support Animals in Need this Christmas with a donation towards the care of the 200 dogs, cats and farm animals that will be spending Christmas within the shelter.
Donation to james apter friendship fund
Melling Parish Council are delighted to be able to support the James Apter Friendship Fund this Christmas with a donation towards their fundraising to provide gifts and toys for the children who receive medical treatments on the Cystic Fibrosis and Oncology Wards at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
To spread a little seasonal cheer Melling Parish Council have donated traditional hampers to residence of Melling over the age of 65 who had been nominated by local organisations.
Melling Christmas Celebration
Melling Parish Council was delighted to provide a donation towards Melling Baptist Christmas Celebration in aid of the James Apter Friendship Fund.
MELLING PARISH COUNCIL - ‘MY COMMUNITY MATTERS’ COMPETITION PRIZE WINNERS
Melling Parish Council recently held a ‘My Community Matters’ competition for individuals within the Parish who were submitting on behalf of an organisation/group, and received an overwhelming response.
The competition asked what people liked and disliked about Melling. The top three likes were the lovely flowers and plants in the area from Melling in Bloom, the Community Spirit, and the parks and gardens.
