Residence turned out in great spirits for The Melling Big Community Clean Up and the so did the weather.  Volunteers of all ages enthusiastically cleaned Satinwood Crescent and park, Waddicar Lane, Station Road, Wheeler Drive & park, Rainbow park, Tithebarn Lane, the canal towpath and other areas of Melling. 

The event brought with it a great community spirit and a lot of laughs and ended with a lovely lunch and much needed refreshments at the Horse and Jockey pub.  Prizes were awarded to the best adult and child litter picker.

Dawn Beaumont Chair of Melling Parish Council said she was delighted to see such wonderful community spirit and would like to sincerely thank the residents who gave their time, enthusiasm and efforts (in some cases even on crutches) to help keep our village looking lovely.
