Melling Parish Council is delighted to be supporting the Alzheimer’s Society this year through its Chair’s Charity, which has been newly introduced for 2015. Through the support of the Alzheimer’s Society we hope to be able to raise awareness of Dementia and the support available for this condition locally.
Melling Parish Council are excited to announce a new competition that we are running in the lead up to Christmas. We are asking for people to submit a photograph of ‘What Melling Means to You’ past or present, and the winning entry will be printed on this year’s Melling Parish Council Christmas cards.

It is with Sadness that we announce the passing of Cllr. Barbara Karran who died at home on Sunday 25th October 2015.
A special day to celebrate the opening of Melling’s Fir Tree Animal Sanctuary’s Special Care Unit was attended by Liverpool playwrite Carla Lane. Carla, who is known for her TV smash hits such as the Liver Birds, Butterflies and Bread has been a long-time campaigner for animals rights, and serves as a trustee of the Animals In Need Sanctuary.
